What is energetic healing? All living things are created and sustained by life force energy. You will know this energy by many names such as Qi, Chi, Prana, God, Goddess, and Ki to name a few. When this life force energy is allowed to flow freely it nurtures and sustains a state of health and wellness. When life force energy is blocked and becomes stagnant, life begins to leave and a condition manifests in the physical body that will be recognized as dis-ease. When life energy is blocked it must be freed to restore a healthy condition. Life force energy may be released and rebalanced in a number of ways. Acupuncturists use needles, pressure, and the precise application of heat to balance the flow of Qi through pathways called meridians. 
In the ancient method of the laying on of hands, Reiki, a practitioner acts as a conduit for this life force energy. They allow this life force energy to flow through their body and out their hands and by placing their hands in specific postures around the body and energy points, this healing energy is transmitted from the Reiki practitioner to the receiver. Reiki will reenergize or rebalance the afflicted area whether disease or discomfort is experienced in physical, spiritual, mental or etherical body. When life force energy, the energy of healing hands, is transmitted to others from a distance, it is called Distance Healing. Distance is not a factor in healing. We are all connected on an energetic level allowing the Reiki healer to send healing life force energy from a distance.
